Nickelodeon Reveals 90’s-Era Programming Block

After teasing about a potential expansion of it’s 90’s-era programming, Nickelodeon has revealed “The Splat,” an 8-hour block that focuses on nostalgic shows.

Premiering October 5 on TeenNick, the programming block will mix live-action and animated shows from the studio’s heyday in the 90’s. The programming will run from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

After the success of it’s 90’s On Nick block, the company has sought to tap the nostalgia of older audiences regarding its programming. “The Splat” aims to return many of those properties to the airwaves.

Shows include “All That,” “Angry Beavers,” “Are You Afraid of the Dark,” “CatDog,” “Clarissa Explains It All,” “Hey Arnold!,” “Hey Dude,” “Kenan & Kel,” “Ren & Stimpy,” “Legends of the Hidden Temple,” “Rocko’s Modern Life,” “Rugrats,” “Salute Your Shorts” and “The Wild Thornberrys.” The network has also stated that more could be added later.

The announcement came as Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell, stars of “Kenan and Kel,” reunited for on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to recreate one of their infamous “Good Burger” sketches.

Programming and featurettes will also be available online via The Splat’s website.
