Game streaming PewDiePie became the first user on YouTube to surpass the 10 billion views mark, he confirmed via Twitter on Sunday.
Already one of the highest-paid YouTube celebrities, the view count has solidified his place in the history of internet media.
PewDiePie, whose real name is Felix Kjellberg, announced the news on his official Twitter.
Today we made history! 10 billion views! THIS IS INSANE. Thank you all so much! Kisses pic.twitter.com/L3Td2HMX4N

Kjellberg earned his views by streaming video games and adding commentary of his own in the process. His “Let’s Play” style of streaming went from creation on his account six years ago to a massive media presence.
In 2012, Kjellberg signed a media agreement with Maker Studios, which is now owned by Disney. His YouTube account has roughly 36 million subscribers.
