San Diego Comic-Con is officially underway and well into its second day as thousands gather for the largest pop-culture convention in the U.S.
This year’s convention has already hosted a great deal of moments, cosplay, surprises, and panels.
One of the most talked-about events this year is the Conan O’Brien live tapings from the Spreckels Theater. By the first taping, the standby line for audiences members was Tweeted to be about 300 deep, with many lucky fans seen after the show carrying Conan Funko PoP! vinyl figures.
Also of news was an announcement on Thursday that Ben Affleck would be starring and directing in a solo Batman feature film. With Geoff Johns also involved in the project, the news release seems to be a prelude to the official Warner Bros. presentation Saturday morning in Hall H.
The largest convention ballroom in San Diego, Hall H has already seen thousands of fans waiting in line overnight for an inside glimpse at their favorite properties. Today seems to be one of the most popular days with The Walking Dead, Game of the Thrones, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. At 7 p.m. Thursday night, the line for Friday’s Hall H panel had already lined the embarcadero behind the convention center. With a wristband policy, fans were given an idea whether they would make the first panel of the day with advanced notice.
Several off-site promotions are taking place, with groups wandering the streets for SyFy’s Childhood’s End, USA’s Colony, and FX’s The Strain.
