Hotels for San Diego Comic Con will go on sale Tuesday, March 24 at 9 a.m. PST, the convention announced today.
Posting on its Toucan Blog, Comic Con International looks to follow most of the same procedures as with previous years for the day described by fans as “Hotelpocalypse.”
Badge holders to the 2015 convention will receive a link in their email, or they can log in via the Comic Con website when the Travel Planners hotel registration link goes active.
Users will then put in a list of exactly six hotels, in order of preference, no more and no less. A two night deposit will also be required, but will not be charged until reservations are confirmed via Travel Planners.
As with most years, hotels tend to sell out extremely quickly, with downtown hotels usually selling through in less than two minutes. The rooms are given on a first-come, first-serve basis with reservations arriving within three seconds of each other processed randomly.
After the six hotels have been selected and submitted, users will receive an email usually within a week to confirm their choice or inform them that their selections have been sold out. For attendees wishing to book a guaranteed room, CCI currently has an Early Bird special for hotels location within the Hotel Circle district of San Diego along the 24-hour convention shuttle route.
