With renewed interest in the franchise, Sony is planning an all-male Ghostbusters reboot to match the already-announced female-driven film in the works.
According to Deadline, the new film comes under a newly-established Ghostcorps production banner with Joe and Anthony Russo (Captain America: Winter Soldier) set to direct and Channing Tatum planning to produce and star.
After years of stalemates in getting a new film for one of the highest-grossing comedy franchises of all time, the guy-centric reboot marks the second Ghostbusters film already in the works. Earlier this year, a female-driven comedy starring Kristen Wigg and Melissa McCarthy was also announced.
The Ghostcorps production banner will involve original thinktank Dan Ankroyd and Ivan Reitman with more franchise opportunities available via their Sony offices.
No date has been set on production or release or whether original Ghostbuster Bill Murray will be involved.
