Breaking Bad and Don’t Trsut the B- in Apt. 23 star Krysten Ritter has landed the title role for Marvel’s Jessica Jones.
The report from Deadline mentions that Ritter was one of five actresses up for the role in the Netflix/Marvel series. The show has a 13-episode straight-to-series commitment.
Jessica Jones followed a superhero suffering post-traumatic stress disorder as she hangs up her cape to begin a legitimate detective agency. The series follows Daredevil in a four-series deal between Marvel and the streaming service.
Melissa Rosenberg is heading the project. Mike Colter (The Following) is rumored to be the choice for male lead Luke Cage. Marvel has not yet made an official announcement regarding casting, but details for Jessica Jones and Daredevil were released at this year’s New York Comic Con.
