Nerd HQ Announces SDCC Plans

The Nerd Machine has released its official plans for this year’s Nerd HQ at San Diego Comic Con.

The offsite event has become one of the most popular areas during the annual convention. This year, Nerd HQ will once again be set in Petco Park with gaming areas, prize giveaways, and the “Conversations for a Cause” panel series.

Zachary Levi, co-founder of The Nerd Machine, which hosts Nerd HQ, set up the conversations as a way to donate to Operation Smile. Levi is an ambassador for the non-profit. This year’s lineup has not been fully announced, but the press release states Evangeline Lily, Norman Reedus, and Jeff Bridges will be in attendance. Conversation tickets will be $22 and hold up to 300 people in a Petco stage.

Nerd HQ gained attention this year after Zachary Levi announced a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo to cover costs for the event. Though the campaign only raised about $330,000 out of a $1 Million goal, Levi promised a return to the convention thanks to the support of fans.

This year’s sponsors will include SEGA, Intel, Makers Studios, Catan Anytime, and a social networking collaboration with Facebook.

The annual dance party will be held on Thursday, July 24.
