By Wes Smith The Los Angeles Convention Center will prepare for “Sailor Moon Day” this Saturday, July 5, as the annual Anime Expo convention reaches full swing. The popular anime series, which was licensed by Viz Media from Toei Animation this year, will be celebrating with a rebooted television show to air the same night. The events for Sailor Moon Crystal are among the highlights of this year’s AX. The official panel will premiere the first subtitled episode and reveal the official English voice cast. Panel attendees will also receive a premium poster to honor the festivities while supplies last. “More than twod ecades after it first captivated millions of fans, the smash hit story of the valiant sailor guardians returns in a big way to thrill a whole new generation of viewers. Join in the celebration throughout the summer as VIZ marks the return of this legendary anime property!” Charlene Ingram, Senior Manager, Animation Marketing at Viz released in a statement last month. Sailor Moon Crystal will air on NeonAlley.com and Hulu.com beginning July 5, with new episodes debuting each Saturday. Anime Expo is the largest anime and manga convention in the U.S., pulling 61,000 attendees to downtown Los Angeles last year. Other events this year include the Masquerade cosplay contest and a special Kill la Kill panel for the breakout show. The convention runs July 3 to July 6.
