Deathstroke, a mercenary in the DC universe, gained renewed popularity through the television show “Arrow” and the “Batman: Arkham Origins” video game.

By Wes Smith Writer and artist Tony S. Daniel revealed to MTV News that DC villain Deathstroke will return with another headlining comic run. Slade Wilson, a skilled assassin and anti-hero to the Justice League, gained renewed interest among fans as the featured villain for the second season of Arrow. He is portrayed by Manu Bennett in the popular CW flagship. DC had previously run a Deathstroke title that ended in May 2013. The new series will be written and penned by Tony S. Daniel with additional art by Sandu Florea. “What I find interesting and why I wanted to write (and draw) Deathstroke, is the opportunity I have to make people give a damn about his missions and motivations. Giving readers a reason to invest emotionally in this guy’s missions and stories is what I think will make a difference for this new title,” Daniel wrote to MTV. Along with the new title, DC is releasing a 6″ resin bust that will be available in January of next year. The price will be announced at a later date. Deathstroke will debut October 22 at $2.99
